LOCATION – Charlottetown
FULL-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION
(Commencing immediately until March 31, 2022 with possibility of extension)
The purpose of these positions is to work independently with some supervision and combine investigative, analytical, and design
skills (based on applications knowledge) with the ability to use software tools/programming languages to produce and implement
properly engineered and tested software solutions to meet defined business/technical/organizational results.
Duties will include:
– Providing production support for one or more production systems for various Government Departments/Agencies
including diagnosing problems, analysing, and evaluating the impact of corrective action; examining database
information for completeness and accuracy;
– Performing modifications and enhancements to production systems including analysing and evaluating the impact of
application modifications or enhancements; designing, coding, testing, and implementing code and other relevant
changes; developing resource estimates for modifications;
– Performing application systems development including investigating, analysing, and modelling requirements of
information flow and processes; constructing, modifying, testing, correcting, and documenting program modules;
collecting data and converting logical specifications into physical design; preparing project statements and project plans;
recommending technical solutions;
– Applying structured systems development and project management techniques by providing input for project costs and
monitoring estimates/budgets; assisting in developing layout and designing standards and ensuring their enforcement;
analysing procedures and improve methodologies in order to streamline processes and improve efficiency; and planning
own work;
– Establishing and maintaining communications with users/client departments; providing client training of applications
and processes;
– Employing personal, professional and organizational development practices;
– Developing SharePoint prototypes for assessments and demonstrations;
– Guiding support team members on SharePoint best practices;
– Configuring and managing SharePoint databases in SQL Server;
– Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
– Applicants must have a university degree or college diploma in an IT related field, with considerable experience in the
IT industry and specific job experience in this area.
– Working knowledge of systems, analysis, development methodology, and system design techniques.
– Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
– Ability to quickly learn new software and programming languages.
– Ability to quickly identify and resolve computer program problems.
– Ability to evaluate computer software, hardware, and training requirements for clients.
– Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
– Good interpersonal and communication skills.
– Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record.
– The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment.
– Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $30.56 – $38.19 per hour (Level 17 UPSE)
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75.0 hours bi-weekly
